New game, new adventure, new program - Game Salad
I expanded my interests and skills into online social gaming, mobile application development, and human interface technology believing these platforms provide excellent marketing opportunities because they can deliver truly interactive, immersive experiences; a captive audience is an invested one. My interest in building mobile apps as marketing tools, led to the designing and creation of an iPhone/iPad native app called Bucky Challenge; The University of Texas-Pan American's first sports game used as a marketing tool. I documented the mobile application building experience using the Game Salad platform in my blog The Novice App Builder, which was listed at 2010 SXSW Interactive.

UTPA media group’s mantle growing heavy with awards
“It was sort of a student production company inside of the office of university relations,” Benham said. “Really it was a paid internship program that I set up to give students applicable work experience in TV/commercial/dramatic/documentary production, web design, mobile app building, and social media marketing experience. In the last seven months we won a Lone Star Emmy from the state of Texas, a Webby People’s Voice Award, W3 Award, Gold ADDY Award, and a Telly Award for the wide variety of our work. These awards mark the first and only awards of their kind for this University.” This blog charts our experience traveling to and attending the 14th Annual Webby Awards ceremony in New Your City, NY where we were honored with the Webby's People Choice Award for our website www.ReeltoRed.com
